Well, this half
term has flown by, yet again! I don't know where the time went.
It was a blur of the usual cleaning, sorting and refereeing, with
some lovely family time in between. The 15 or 20 minutes when we
could all sit together and watch a family documentary without any
sort of ruction was pure bliss - short-lived, but nonetheless,
wonderful while it lasted. These moments were usually interrupted
by the rambunctious Harry with his makeshift pistol, which he would
whip out suddenly, shouting for us to reach for the stars! This
would evolve into the usual scrum of pillow fighting and children
yelling. At this point, I would get up and continue with the
household errands, knowing it was a waste of breath trying to get
them under control. I'd just have to wait until they'd
exhausted themselves and then try again!
I had a lovely, child-free day on Friday, as I went to the Candis
debate photo shoot in Manchester. I was really nervous the night
before and consequently woke up at 5.30am with eczema on my chin
flaring up and a gammy right eye! Blooming typical - my face looked
a mess and I needed to prise my eye open before attempting to put
any make-up on. Pete dropped me off at the station at 7am, and I
arrived at the studio at about 9.30 and met some really lovely
women. It was such a nice treat to sit and talk to everyone without
being interrupted, and being able to actually finish a sentence
I'd started was great! After the photos and discussion, we had
a lovely light lunch. Thank you, Candis team, for a great day!
I also picked up a fantastic diet tip from one of the ladies there.
She told me she ate a can of grapefruit a day, along with her usual
diet - and while she didn't go mad, she did enjoy the
occasional take away and still managed to lose over a stone! Well
you can guess what was in my shopping trolley over the weekend and
I have embarked, yet again, on a never-ending mission to lose this
mysterious stone that I can't shift. Along with the new-found
diet, my friend Kirsty invited me along to the aqua fit class she
regularly goes to, and my muscles have only just stopped shaking!
It was loads of fun and I hope to go every Monday. This and
grapefruits are going to work wonders, I'm convinced. I'll
keep you posted...
