With so much going on for all of
us I thought it would be a good idea to do an update on who's
doing what and when... if nothing else it will help me get my head
straight and hopefully raise a laugh or sympathetic groan if
you're going through the same things as our family...
Pete's work is still very much undecided and he is up all hours
working on tenders at home in an effort to win more work to carry
the company through. The idea of any profitable work is looking
more and more unlikely this year. He is obviously very worried and
I wish I could do more to relieve his stress. He is such a trouper
though and continues to float through a house hold that is awash
with fluctuating hormones and temper tantrums, and of course
there's me with my pie in the sky ideas and my staple words of
wisdom - "Don't worry love one day we'll win the
lottery" - to which he just smiles but deep down at this
point, he probably wants to bop me one!!
Colby took her theory test again last week and failed so I felt
very badly for her. She has been really temperamental lately and
I'm never sure what mood she's in. It seems to be by the
end of the day she has deteriorated into a door slamming,
belligerent monster!! Tom is due home for two weeks in July so I am
hoping that this will keep her on an even keel for a bit! The only
problem with that is he is away again until October so it'll be
another few months of hell for us. Aargh!
Callum has had the beginnings of the dreaded teenage personality
transplant and has been left with a grunting, "It's not
fair, do I have to" shoulder-shrugging 'Kevin' one, so
more happy days lie ahead for us, just great! I have been asking
this child to bring his PE kit home for three months and he
constantly forgets... I dread to think how bad the smell will be
when it finally walks home by itself.
Kelvin dropped a bombshell the other day saying he is thinking of
giving up his job and going to university to study music. So, he
might not move into the cottage after all but go and live on campus
instead. I suppose if he doesn't do it now while he is young he
might regret it, but I hope whatever he does it makes him happy in
the long run. Cooper is probably going to go to university to study
English so I'm wondering if they can go to the same one
together.
Madison is mostly at Davy's and when they came round the other
day he said that he had finally found a full-time job so I am very
pleased for him. Since then Madison has said they have been looking
at places to rent with the idea of moving in together.... oh to be
young and start all over again with all the wisdom that I have now!
If this happens Mackenna will then finally get her own room away
from the boys who, at this point in time, are driving her up the
wall resulting in driving me up the wall!
On Wednesday it was Harry's 7th birthday and also the day I was
to find out if I had been successful in my audition last Saturday.
We took Harry over to Toys r Us to spend his birthday money and
came home for cake. I got the call soon after returning home to say
I had been given a background part in the Christmas advert to be
filmed in August. Given my awful audition I am lucky to have got
that but am not altogether sure what 'background' means!
Maybe I shall be the shopper with her nose pressed up to the window
looking in at all the goodies, but not completely in camera range!!
Or just as the ad appears on TV you will see my face for a
millisecond as the Iceland logo pops up and blots it out!!
I haven't heard anything negative from Kyle for a while and
assume from this there have been no more written off cars,
accidentally burned down fences, job losses or evictions so
everything is going well for him. I do miss him and it will be over
18 months since I have seen him last. I was desperately hoping I
got a better part in the ads so that I, perhaps, could have got
some money to fly out to Florida to surprise him and my Mum for her
70th next year but never mind, there's still the lottery...
