CANDIS CLUB SUPPORTS MARIE CURIE
Candis Club has
been supporting Marie Curie for 11 years and has so far donated
over £5 million to the charity. This year, it will receive a
further £250,000, which will be used to assist with the
charity's aims for 2010. Tom Hughes-Hallett, chief executive at
Marie Curie said, "The support Candis and its readers has
given Marie Curie to date has been absolutely tremendous. It has
enabled us to provide more free nursing care to terminally ill
patients in the comfort of their own homes, surrounded by their
loved ones. In particular, money donated by Candis Club in 2010
will help bring Marie Curie a step closer to achieving our goal of
doubling the number of patients we care for, and in reducing the
number of cancer deaths in hospitals. We look forward to another
successful year of working together."
Every issue of Candis contains heart-warming stories about the care
and research that Candis Club members are helping to make possible.

"I wanted to read more about the fantastic work marie curie does. We have just planted bulbs at Girnhill Infant School and sent our donation to marie curie last week. it has made me more aware of the charity and i will encourage the school to continue fundraising for such a worthwhile cause. "
