What they do:
Aim to give every baby born in the UK the healthiest start in life.
Candis Big Give project:
Every year, over 80,000 babies born in the UK spend time in neonatal units. Best Beginnings has created the Small Wonders DVD, which will be given to every parent of a premature or sick baby born in the UK from June 2012 to June 2013. The DVD will show parents how they can play a positive role in their baby’s care, alongside the medical professionals. Best Beginnings is also recruiting 400 volunteer nurses – two for every neonatal unit in the UK – and each will ensure the DVD is used effectively in their unit. The money raised in the Candis Big Give will enable all 400 nurses to give two and a half days of their time.
