Provide information and support to people affected by ME, which is also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
To recruit professional training staff to improve the work of 30 volunteers who provide support to ME sufferers via the charity’s helpline. The volunteers are generally not well enough to travel to group sessions, so a teleconferencing system will be used to deliver training on specialist subjects, including coping with panic attacks and advising distressed callers. The helpline currently receives 5,000 calls a year and 3,000 enquiries by email.
