An interview with... Will Smith

Where there's a Will...

Will Smith has earned his place with the Hollywood elite. Yet he tells Tiffany Rose why family values will always matter more than any A-list credentials.

Will SmithWill Smith is probably the only movie star in Hollywood to welcome growing older. "I'm going to be so sexy when I'm older," he laughs, flashing his trademark cheeky grin. "No listen, you have no idea how sexy I'm gonna be. I know you're moved by me now, but just see me in five years and it will be hard for you to even talk to me!"

It's virtually impossible to dislike the 42-year-old action hero, whose price tag is now a cool $20 million a film. The only thing you could find not to like about him is that he's not your best friend. That position is already taken by wife of almost 13 years, actress, Jada Pinkett-Smith, 39, whom Will half-jokes, "wears the pants in the Smith household."

Within minutes of meeting the rapper turned A-lister, you feel like you've known him since childhood. Not only does he exude physical magnetism, he's warm and inviting too, and even offers you a coffee - a job usually reserved for any number of willing assistants.

Today Will's hair is cropped and flecked with silver, giving him a more distinguished appeal. Designer black jeans and a hooded tank top hang perfectly on his athletic frame. There's no doubt about it, Will Smith looks every inch the movie star.

He states in his marshmallowy voice, "Jada keeps telling me to stop saying this, but I am over 40 and it feels like this is the peak. I really don't have many years of running, jumping and shooting left in me.

"There's always going to be a new young dude who can take his shirt off in a movie and doesn't have rolls around his waist like I do," he adds. "So, probably in a few years from now, I'll start settling down, you know, mixing a drama in here and an action in there. And you won't even notice."

Actually we would. But it's true, since soaring to mega stardom in box office hits like the Men in Black movies, I, Robot and Independence Day, Will appears to have done it all. He received an Oscar nod for his portrayal of boxing champ Mohammed Ali, he's a Grammy winner, not to mention a devoted husband and father of three.

Will and Jada may appear polar opposites: he stands at a majestic 6ft 2in, while she is pushing 5ft. But Jada's larger than life persona is definitely the yin to his yang.
