Actress Pauline Quirke, 50, now runs the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts with her husband Steve. She lives in Buckinghamshire with Steve and their children, Emily and Charlie
What makes the
perfect day?
It would start with breakfast in bed, made by my lovely husband,
Steve. I'd watch a cooking programme, then I'd spend the
day with my family. We'd watch a film and then in the evening
I'd cook dinner.
What book changed your life?
The Sculptress by Minette Walters. It was adapted for television in
1996 and I played the lead. Up until then, I was mostly known for
my comedy work, so playing the lead in a thriller changed my
professional life.
What's the naughtiest thing you did when you were
little?
When I was eight, I stole a plastic ruler from the
local newsagent.
I was so terrified that I'd get caught
and taken to the police station that
I vowed never to do
anything like that again. I can't even take the mini shampoos
and soaps from hotels!
