Outstanding Family Awards 2010
We celebrate the achievements of families in Britain...
Candis held its search for Britain's most outstanding families for the third time. We searched for families that were doing amazing things to help others.
In 2010, we introduced five categories so that there were more opportunities to enter.
The winning families were invited to a once-in-a-lifetime awards day at Knowsley Safari Park, including an exclusive, behind-the-scenes treat with the animals.

Pauline Quirke
Actress, founder of the Pauline Quirke Academy, and mother of three: "I feel honoured to be involved with the judging process for this award. I'm looking forward to helping celebrate the amazing things families in Britain are achieving."
Lynda Bellingham
Actress, writer and mother of two: "It's time we recognised the achievements of families all over Britain, many of which have got through the recent recession by pulling together and supporting each other. It's an honour to help celebrate that."
Denise Roberston
Candis and This Morning agony aunt, mother and grandmother: "Since time began, the family has been important, that's why I'm delighted to be a judge. I know I will find all the entries inspiring."
Brooke and Debbie Kinsella
Set up the Ben Kinsella Trust to promote knife-crime awareness: "We understand how precious families are, and it's moving to see how others have undergone traumas together, and come out even stronger."
The Winners...
Five families were invited to an exclusive once-in-a-lifetime day at Knowsley Safari Park on 23rd August 2010. As well as enjoying a day at the park, families had the opportunity to go behind the scenes and meet some of the animals. Then we went on to a celebratory tea party at Knowsley Hall where each finalist reeived a Candis goody bag worth £500 before the overall winner was announced.
This winning family received an incredible all-inclusive holiday to the Aqua Fantasy Hotel & Aquapark in Kusadasi, Turkey, courtesy of First Choice. With the best pools from around the world brought together in one amazing waterpark, kids love the fun slides and adventure river, while toddlers can potter on the pirate ship. For teens, there's wild 80km-an-hour water rides likes the Viper and
X-treme. Parents can relax with a cocktail by the lagoon or stunning infinity pool, and there are also seven restaurants and 11 bars, plus evening entertainment, a private beach on the Aegean
coast, and comfy bedrooms. Nearby, Kusadasi offers restaurants, shops and a traditional market where haggling is obligatory! This great resort has something for everyone - whatever their ages and tastes.
