A Tennessee 231 2 x 50gm
B Ecru 324 2 x 50gm
NEEDLES
1 pair 4mm (no 8) (US 6) needles
Cable needle
TENSION
Before washing
20 sts and 28 rows to 10cm measured over st st on 4mm (US 6) needles.
Tension note: Denim will shrink in length when washed for the first time. Allowances have been made in the pattern for shrinkage
(Makes 1)
Using 4mm (US 6) needles and yarn A cast on 91sts.
Row 1: K1, *P1, K1, rep from * to end
This row sets moss st patt.
Work a further 4 rows in moss st, cont as folls:-
Row 1 (WS): Using A patt 24, using B P64,
using A patt to end.
Row 2 (RS): Using A patt 3, using B K64, using A patt to end.
Rep last 2 rows once.
Row 5: Using A patt 24, P64, patt to end.
Row 6: As row 2.
Row 7: As row 5.
Row 8: Using A patt 3, K64, patt to end.
Row 9: As row 1.
Row 10: As row 8.
Rows 11 to 14: As rows 1 and 2 twice.
These 14 rows set edging in moss st, with centre panel in striped st st.
Cont as set for a further 6 rows, ending with WS facing for next row.
Next row (WS): Cast off 21 sts, patt to end.
70 sts.
Cont on rem sts in patt until work meas 45.5cm, ending with WS facing for next row.
Next row (WS): Cast on 21sts, patt 24 (to include newly cast on sts), P64 in correct colour, using A patt to end.
Cont as set for a further 19 rows.
Next row: Using A work all sts in moss stitch as set.
Work a further 4 rows in moss st.
Cast off
MAKING UP
Machine wash. Fold both sections worked in moss stitch back on to RS of work and stitch in place to form pockets for cutlery and napkin.
