Cr3R = K into front of 3rd st on left needle, then into
front of 2nd st on left needle, then into first st and slip
all 3 sts off left needle together; C4B = slip next 2 sts
onto cable needle and leave at back of work, K2, then
K2 from cable needle; C4F = slip next 2 sts onto cable
needle and leave at front of work, K2, then K2 from
cable needle; MB = (K1, P1, K1) all into next st, turn,

Shape shoulders and back neck

MAKING UP
Press as described on the information page.
Join both shoulder seams using back stitch, or mattress
stitch if preferred.
Front bands (both alike)
Using 5mm (US 8) needles cast on 12 sts.
Work in g st until band, when slightly stretched, fits up
front opening edge to neck shaping, ending with RS
facing for next row.
For first band, break yarn, leave sts on a holder and
slip stitch this band in place to left front opening edge.
For second band, do NOT break yarn and slip stitch
this band in place to right front opening edge.
Neckband
With RS facing and using 5mm (US 8) needles, K across
12 sts of second front band, pick up and knit 26 [26:
29: 29] sts up right side of neck, 30 [30: 32: 32] sts
from back, and 26 [26: 29: 29] sts down left side of
neck, then K across 12 sts of left front band.
106 [106: 114: 114] sts.
Row 1 (WS): P2, *K2, P2, rep from * to end.
Row 2: K2, *P2, K2, rep from * to end.
Row 4 (eyelet row) (RS): K2, *yfrn, P2tog, K2, rep
from * to end.
Work in rib for a further 4 rows, ending with WS
facing for next row.
Cast off in rib (on WS).

in sleeves using the set-in method. Thread ribbon
through eyelet row of neckband.
Using photograph and embroidery diagram as a guide,
embroider flowers and leaves onto wide cables. For
each flower, work 5 lazy daisy stitches radiating out
from one point using either Skipper 707 or Shiraz 711.
At centre of each flower, embroider a french knot
using Blush 703. Using Holly 706 double, embroider
straight stitch leaves centrally onto top of cable
crossings.
