People who are concerned about their family health should make sure their lightbulbs are not low energy, according to new research, which suggests they could bring on disabling migraines.
Ms Lee Tomkins, director at national charity Migraine Action, said that low-energy light sources can cause the extreme headaches and altering these could help to avoid the problem.
"It confirms some things we already knew, including the fact that light can exacerbate pain within a migraine attack and that migraineurs tend to be sensitive to the blue light waves in the light spectrum," she stated.
The expert added that further research into the connection between low-energy light sources and migraines needs to be done so a possible treatment can be developed.
Wales' chief medical officer, Dr Tony Jewell, recently released a report which stated that only five per cent of the Welsh health budget is spent on preventative health measures, which equals just £94 per citizen per year.
