New learning techniques are important
Creative learning approaches can significantly improve children's chances of doing better at school, according to one expert, who said adopting the techniques can raise standards.
Patrick Leeson, director of education and care at Ofsted, said that children should be encouraged to try things out on a trial and error basis so they can learn for themselves, which may interest those looking for some parental advice.
He said: "Creative approaches to learning can motivate pupils and help them become effective and independent learners. We found that pupils' motivation was reinforced by the awareness they gained from tracking their own progress."
The expert added that schools need to support teachers who are trying out new approaches and share best practices and good leadership techniques that are developed.
Ofsted recently stated that creative approaches to learning can help raise school standards, but secure subject knowledge and careful planning are crucial.
