People looking for parental advice should make sure they support their school's calls for more financial support, according to one expert, who said that will be a crucial part of educational development in the UK.
Sue Fieldman, regional editor of the Good Schools Guide, said that more finances should be made available to state school children in order to encourage social mobility.
"The best way to improve social mobility is to start educating state school children at a very young age that they can achieve and go into these professions and for the government to make more money available," she stated.
Ms Fieldman added that without financial support, some students would not be able to get onto expensive courses and progress in their career.
According to a recent survey carried out by university advice website Push.co.uk, students who started at university last year can expect to owe nearly £21,200 by the time they leave.
