Eating healthy family recipes together can help broods bond and improve communication between parents and children, according to one expert.
Alison Morris, editor of the parenting website, MyDaughter.co.uk, said that it is important that the traditional family meals do not become a thing of the past, as problems can be thrashed out across the dinner table.
She said: "I think it's really important that families spend time together on any activity, and eating together is a healthy community way of engaging with each other."
The expert added that the more times a parent cooks up a healthy family recipe, the better, and said families should even try to shop for ingredients together.
In other news, the traditional family dinner time is becoming a thing of the past, according to a study by SPAM. Working mums and busy kids mean families eat their evening meal later than ever, with many not even sitting down together anymore.
