Holidays in the UK can be great
People taking family holidays in the UK can enjoy brilliant accommodation and also make a contribution to the country's economy, according to one expert, who said now is the perfect time to invest in a trip.
Mary Rance, chief executive of UKinbound, said that the UK is being seen as a great value for money location, which offers families the chance to avoid harsh exchange rates because of the weakness of sterling.
"We also welcome the variety and range of great destinations which are included in this promotion, which we know will encourage visitors to experience and enjoy some of the best tourism products that the UK has to offer," she stated.
The expert also welcomed the range of destinations included in the Cities Campaign, which has been launched to promote tourism in the UK.
In a recent PKF Hotel Consultancy Services survey, in London, the Christmas and New Year festivities meant occupancy increased year on year by 5.3 per cent, from 72.8 per cent in 2008 to 76.7 per cent in 2009.
