Learning can be a difficult part of family life and one expert said that subjects like IT are being taught in a manner which is too boring and needs to be reformed.
David Braben, founder of Frontier Developments, speaking at Westminster eForum keynote seminar: the UK computer and video games, said that, at present, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) is not interesting enough.
"The real problem is that ICT is very, very dull from a school and kids point of view. It's not done uniformly with the national curriculum," he stated.
Mr Braben added that at the moment, some courses are not useful and teach people the wrong things about the video game industry.
The number of students accepted into university or college to study computer science rose by seven per cent last year, according to figures published by UCAS.

"Taking into account not all our school children have access to computers at home and maybe slower thaan those who have access. To be sensitive to them and allow for different speeds in processing the IT skills as a group."
