People wanting to add some new interior designs to their family life should steer clear of opting for a neutral colour scheme, according to experts, who believe the style is on the way out.
British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) members Sally Dernie, of Sally Dernie Interior Design, and Debra Kacher, from dk Interiors, both said that colourful layouts are beginning to become more prevalent in homes around the UK.
Ms Dernie said: "The neutral look has been copied and replicated by every property developer and home stager and people no longer want this rather bland 'show home' look."
But Ms Kacher predicted that more colour will be seen and she believes that the interior trends will be heavily influenced by movements within the fashion world.
The Crown Colour Trend 2010 report has recently identified six key trends for this year, including colours from the Terra, New Mexico and St Germaine palettes.
