Singapore is the ideal family travel location, being a melting pot of culture and having something to suit all budgets, according to an expert.
Eunice Yeo, area director of northern and western Europe for the Singapore Tourism Board, said that the city has a mix of Chinese, Indian, Malay and Eurasian nationalities, creating a dynamic feel.
"Its rich history and old world charm are overlaid with cutting-edge technology for a tantalising and eclectic mix of old and new, making it a dynamic and exciting destination for a broad spectrum of visitors," she added.
The expert also said that Singapore has something to suit every family travel budget, with a range of accommodation choices and low-cost food. The public transport system in the city makes it cheap and easy to get around, meaning budgets can be stretched further.
Ms Yeo's comments follow figures released from the Singapore Tourism Board, which showed that visitor numbers to the area grew by 17.6 per cent year-on-year in January 2010.
