The Conservatives' plans to force some schools to become academies may have a negative effect on family life and impact on children's education around the country.
Philip Parkin, general secretary at Voice, the union for education professionals, said that any drastic changes to the educational set-up of schools could result in poorer standards.
"I have grave reservations about any process which does not allow sufficient time for consultation and sufficient time for both schools and local authorities to be fully prepared for the change," he stated.
The expert added that there is no evidence which shows the academy system works and said there is no reason for a headlong rush to transform schools into academies.
People trying to give their children some parental advice should tell them about the importance of sprucing up math skills, according to Hilary Leevers, assistant director for the Campaign for Science and Engineering.
More about family life.
