Discarding healthy family recipes 'lowers productivity'

Not eating healthy family recipes for breakfast can affect a person's productivity, according to an industry expert.

Dora Walsh, nutritional therapist and founder of Nutriheal, has designed breakfasts for hotel chain Best Western and explained that a third of people do not actually have time in the morning to have breakfast and that this has a direct effect on things such as brain power, creativity and energy.

She said: "It is all about preparation and making time in the morning, even if it is just ten minutes to sit down and have some healthy muesli mixed with yoghurt and some fruit."

Ms Walsh also cited research conducted by Best Western, which found that four out of five people agree that eating a healthy breakfast is essential for a good working day, yet one third skipped breakfast in the morning.

On top of this, healthy family recipes also have an impact on weight, as a recent study published in the International Journal of Obesity found that eating breakfast was associated with a reduction in obesity.
