Members of Candis Club and their spouses automatically qualify for personal accident insurance. They don't have to pay a penny and could receive a lump sum when they most need it.

Policy summary

This is a summary of the cover provided by the Candis Club Personal Accident Insurance Group Policy.  This summary does not contain all the terms and conditions of the Group Policy. The Insurer
Cover is underwritten by ACE (ACE means ACE European Group Limited registered in England No. 1112892, Head Office: ACE Building, 100 Leadenhall Street, London, EC3A 3BP).  ACE is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) - registration number FRN202803. Cover
The Group Policy provides Accidental Death and Permanent Disability cover for i) any member of the Candis Club who is named in the Candis Club's membership database, ii) the Partners of such members and iii) any employee/ representative of the Candis Club. (Persons Insured).

Features and benefits
If, while the Group Policy is in force, an accident occurs at any time and causes bodily injury to a Person Insured ACE will pay up to the amounts shown in the Schedule of Benefits.

Schedule of Benefits
If, whilst the Group Policy is in force, an accident occurs at any time and causes bodily injury to a Person Insured ACE will pay up to the amounts shown in the Schedule of Benefits below.

BENEFIT DESCRIPTION / BENEFIT AMOUNT
Accidental Death: £1,250
Permanent Total Disablement: £1,250
Loss of one or more Limbs: £1,250
Loss of two or more Limbs: £1,250

The Benefit Amounts shall be reduced by 50% in respect of Persons Insured aged 65 years or over.
The Benefit Amounts shall be doubled if the Accident leading to payment of the Benefit Amount under either of the sections above occurs whilst the Person Insured is occupying a road or rail vehicle.

Duration of policy
Cover is provided until 30th September 2007 and then subsequently for further annual periods if renewed by Candis Club.

Policy exclusions
There are some situations for which the Person Insured is not covered.  These involve any acts that are caused by deliberate or illegal acts on the part of the Person Insured. There are some standard exclusions that apply to the cover.  They include any illness or disease. Accidents resulting from war, winter sports such as skiing or snowboarding, taking part in Air Travel unless as a non fare paying passenger, Repetitive Stress (Strain) Injury, Hazardous Activities, such as mountaineering, riding or being a passenger on a motorcycle.  We do not cover anyone serving full- time in the Armed Forces of any country or International Organisation (please see the Group Policy for full wordings)

Cancellation
The Group Policy can be cancelled by the Group Policyholder (Candis Club) or by ACE at renewal, 30th September 2007, or annually thereafter.   This is a Group Policy, which provides the Person Insured with free Cover the moment you become a Candis Member, therefore you have no individual rights to cancel your free Cover.

How to claim
If a claim needs to be made, we need to be notified within 90 days of the Accident, or as soon as possible after that.  We will then ask for a claim form to be filled in to register the claim.
