Candis Club Community Award guidelines

The Candis Club Committee has approved the following as criteria to follow when selecting charities to receive a Candis Club Community Award:

The organisation / project should:

Be charitable within the meaning of the law, whether or not the proposed recipient is a registered charity
Be able to bank a CHARITIES AID FOUNDATION cheque
Specifically support or provide for human health where it is an organisation/project that has an involvement in health
Intend to use the donation for activities benefiting the community within a limited area only (i.e. town/county/region) or should directly benefit the people of a member's local community
Have direct or tangible benefits* to those it aims to support (or provide a time-scale indicating when benefits are expected to take place)
Be of benefit to a significant number of people
Disclose its objectives for spending a Candis Club donation
Provide a copy of its latest Annual Report where available

Requests for items such as computer equipment, office materials and other items for marketing, advertising and the charity's day-to-day administrative costs will not be considered

Each month, a selection of community groups and voluntary organisations are chosen by the Candis Club Committee to receive one-off awards of between £500 and £5,000 (payments are made with a Charities Aid Foundation voucher).

To nominate an organisation for a Candis Club Community Award, please tell us in writing why your application is a deserving one - include personal details of stories that illustrate this. Nominations are considered monthly.
