Tho years have passed since last I penned - of Shangri-La and
such, the magic still is in my heart, tho things have changed so
much.
My love and I no longer share the life we had before,
But still we care, and strangely yet, we seem to, love much more.
Absence makes the heart grown fonder - and I for one believe
Tho many times we are apart we have no cause to grieve,
'Cause children such as ours, dear Sue, must fill our hearts
with pride.
The love we share is Heaven sent, and God knows we have tried, to
do what's right, as parents should, to live and fight the
fight.
We prayed for help from One who knows, that we can de what's
right
It's hard to think of fairyland, when daily life is rouge,
But, strangely it can ease our mind, when everything seems though.
So let us clear our clouded thoughts, and close our weary eyes,
And think of all the lovely things, like birds, and clear blue
skies.
If we believe in happiness, which everyone should know
Then we should strive, at every turn, when we are feeling low
To find it in or hears to thank, the God who made us all
And then we'll find the strength we need to smile and then walk
tall,
So, let us think of waterfalls, and glades of dewy green,
Where we made love in Shangri-La - where Pegasus was seen
And how he flew with mighty wings, and soared so high above
With you and I close on his back, as he shared in our love
So - as is sit here, all alone, no house to share with you,
I think of all the good times (and they were not a few)
So, when we look at 'photos, and the memories they revive,
We should be glad, and never sad (it's good to be alive)
For each day we'll do our best, (the 'first' day of our
life)
And for my part I'll thank the Lord that you became my wife.
We're one in heart, and spirit too, we're proved it many
times
You know my thoughts before I speak, that's why I write in
rhymes
Like n this page, to show my love and all you mean to me
Like Liz at work, she knows the score, and everyone should see
Then you and I were meant to be, no matter what they say
So many times I felt it wrong - my age is in the way
But we have overcome the gap, (o doubters hold your tongue)
For we are still together, and you keep me every young
So, thank you Sue, for children two, our family of four
If I was young, I promise you, we both would try for more
A boy perhaps, with curly hair, and eyes of deepest green.
I know that's what you wanted dear, and that's what might
have been
But never mind, we surely must, give thanks for both our girls
They are both so beautiful, especially with curls
Sue looks so nice with curly hair, why should she want it straight?
It makes her look like Mystic Meg (the one who reads our fate)
But what (you ask) has this to do, with elves and Shangri-La?
Not a thing - I'm sad to say (looks like I've gone too far)
So now I must begin again, and give my thoughts a shake
Though I'm now so tired Sue, it's hard to keep awake
And now i go to lonely bed, to dream I'm still with you
But you must know, deep in your heart, I am forever true.
I LOVE YOU
And as I stop this rhyme for now (I haven't done too bad)
Six hundred words without a stop, for that I should be glad
It means I haven't lost my gift, the will to write of things
So mystical and joyful too, like Pegasus with wings
GOODNIGHT

"Goodnight Peter If you were young you would not have had time to write these beautiful words, nor the experience to know the truth of them. Chris Pinkney"
