To my wife Susan
The Exposition of my God, on the altar of my church,
Called to my heart this morning, and so I went in search
Of peace of soul that only He, can give to those who knock,
And as I knelt, in empty church, my heart I did unlock,
To give hi thanks and praise, for all the many things that He,
Has given to this worthless man, to set his spirit free.
The silence and the candlelight, the Monstrance standing clear,
The patter of the rain outside, made Jesus seem more near.
For He and I become as one, my prayers winged so true,
I knew He heard my every word, and in my heart I knew
That if we place our trust in Him, as I have done today
He'll walk beside us, hold our hand, to guide us on our
way.
I thanked him for your love, Dear Sue, and that of Danielle,
And for the baby in your womb- which was a gift as well.
And all the daily blessings, which so often wee forget
The home we have, our health and strength, we've nothing to
regret.
We have so much to thank Him for, so let us start right now
To live our lives as He would wish, you know that we know how!
To give a smile, and not a frown- forgive instead if hate,
To give each day of our daily best, that god is in our heart
It only takes a little thought, a pause before we start,
To say the things that hurt us, that drives our peace away,
And leaves us with the bitter taste which spoils our every day.
Talk is so easy, as I should know, and I should much more,
To curb my tongue, to lead the way, and open up the door
Of kindness that is in us all, God gave us the key
We use it by the way we act, the way we let all see
That we are kind, and thoughtful too, in everything we do,
So let us show the world our love, and to ourselves to be true!
