Special Candis Club donation
Supporting research into children’s health
In 2015, Candis Club will be giving a special donation to the University of Liverpool to support their fantastic campaign to create better, safer medicines for children
Children and young people are among the most frequent users of healthcare provision in the UK. However, many of the medicines used to treat both common and life-threatening conditions in children and babies have not been developed specifically for this age group. Recent requirements by the European Regulation on Better Medicines for Children have led to a dramatic increase in the number of clinical studies conducted in the paediatric population.
In a bid to develop more effective, safer and improved treatments for younger patients, the University of Liverpool are currently fundraising for a new £25 million facility that will give every child cared for at Alder Hey Hospital, Merseyside, the opportunity to participate in potentially life-saving clinical trials, with successful new treatments being implemented across the NHS and used throughout the world.
To help with the University of Liverpool’s work in the field of children’s health, Candis Club have made available £10,000 to match any donations made to the project between 1 March and 31 May 2015 – every penny of which will be used to fund the construction of the University of Liverpool and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital’s Research and Education Centre, where this crucial research will take place.
By subscribing to Candis, you are helping to support this life-saving research, as it is your subscriptions that enable us to make our donations. However, you can help the University of Liverpool to raise even more by using the link below to make a donation between 1 March and 31 May 2015 to the university’s fundraising campaign, which will be doubled by our match-funding pot while funds last.
