The £10,000 Candis Charity Challenge

This month we’re bringing back the Candis Charity Challenge – a fantastic initiative in which we give away a £10,000 donation to one of two charities! We need your help deciding where it goes.

The charities going head to head for the donation are:

Scope who would use the £10,000 to fund 100 home visits from Scope Response Workers to families who have just received the news their child is disabled. The Scope Response Workers offer practical and emotional support to families at points of crisis, helping to alleviate many of the challenges facing those affected by disability.

Find out more about how Scope’s Response Workers help families with this video which tells the story of Jayden and his mum Dionne, who was struggling to get the support they needed until she phoned Scope’s helpline.

Multiple Sclerosis Society

Multiple Sclerosis Society who would use the money to cover all grants for adult carers over the next year, helping to lessen the huge financial impact of caring for someone with MS and allowing carers access to vocational courses and recreational opportunities to reduce isolation and offer them a break from their caring roles.

Watch this video of Emily and David’s story to find out more about the valuable role of carers and why they are in need of support.

Read this month’s issue of Candis to find out more about each charity and the fantastic projects they are hoping to fund.
