5 amazing ways to put a spring in your step!
The clocks have sprung forward – spring is well and truly here! Its time to come out your winter hibernation mode and make some positively sunny changes to your life. Here are just a few ideas to get you started.
Ok, we’ve heard it all before but a good clear out is worth every minute. This is your chance to say goodbye to everything you no longer need, while stumbling upon forgotten treasures. So empty out the cupboards and your wardrobe; clear out the garage, the loft, your car boot, and every other nook and cranny. Creating piles works well to keep things organised: a pile to keep, a pile for donation, and a pile for recycling or throwing away. Then rehome everything you want to keep – and if it still hasn’t got an obvious home, chuck it!

Make the most of the longer days and spend some time in the great outdoors. Go for a walk on your lunch break, take the kids on a bike ride at the weekend, or join a local sports club. Fresh air and sunshine are nature’s medicine for the soul and it doesn’t have to be 25 degrees to enjoy it.
It is easy to slip into a routine when we’re busy – especially with food. Convenience can often replace nutritional balance and we can forget how good home-cooked food actually tastes. The key to healthy eating is planning ahead – search online for recipes that use your favourite ingredients, work out a weekly menu then draw up a shopping list so you’ve got everything in. If you are on a busy schedule then get the family involved and draw up a rota. Spruce up your lunches too, swapping dull sandwiches for salads, wraps and pasta.
Organise your finances
Again, not always fun, but something well worth taking the time to do. Do you actually know what all your outgoings are? Go through your finances, right down to the last penny, then work out a budget. This will enable you to regain control over your earnings and will help you to make savings you never knew were possible.
Calm your mind
It’s easy for our minds to become as cluttered as our cupboards. Negative thoughts and emotions are incredibly time-consuming and can drain us of our energy. They also cloud our judgement of what’s happening in the present moment. Yoga, meditation, relaxation or counselling are all great tools to help empty and calm your mind and resolve old issues. Experiment to find what works best for you.
