Bake a cake…
Join in the fun of Bake It Better Week to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital – and see how much of the Great British Bake Off has rubbed off on you with our baking quiz…
Celebrities including Hairy Bikers Si King and Dave Myers, TV cook Sophie Dahl, actress Fay Ripley and Coronation Street’s Wendi Peters have joined Great British Bake Off contestants and others to share their favourite recipes for this year’s charity Bake It Better Week (13-19 October).
The event aims to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity by encouraging bakers across the country to gather their family, friends and colleagues and organise cake sales to raise more than £125,000 to help fund state-of-the-art facilities at the hospital where a parent or carer can stay by their child’s bedside.
GBBO contestants Kimberly Wilson, Cathryn Dresser, Glenn Cosby – plus last year’s winner Frances Quinn – have donated their signature bake, including Glenn’s Nutella Baked Cheesecake, Cathryn’s Raspberry Slices and Frances’ Almond Biscuit Plasters.
Francess Quinn said, “I’m honoured to share my recipe to help such a fantastic cause, I’m passionate about everything I make and to know that the money raised will help patients and their families is the icing on the cake.”
Bakers will get a fundraising pack full of ideas, including recipes from celebrities, patients and hospital staff, decorations for your bake sale, tips to boost donations and lots more to help you make the most of your event.
Meanwhile, as you’re waiting for your chosen recipes to bake, rise or set, why not take part in our fun baking quiz?
