Reindeer hat pattern errata

The tension used by the author of this pattern is 16 sts and 25 rows = 10cm (4in) square in stocking stitch worked with UK 10 (3.25mm) needles. We’d like to point out, however, that the author has a unique way of working on very small needles that produces a relatively loose finish, and you may find this difficult to achieve on the needles she suggests. We therefore strongly recommend that you test the tension of each pattern before beginning, and if necessary adjust the needle size to suit the yarn used. For guidance, if using Lion Brand Jiffy yarn, we recommend you use UK 7 (4.5mm) needles to achieve the correct tension. Another suitable alternative to Lion Brand Jiffy is Rowan Cocoon yarn; if using this yarn we suggest using UK 6 (5mm) needles.

This pattern does not advise the ply of the wool. My mum attempted to knit this hat with double knit wool and the result was a tiny hat. I have spent hours trying to find this wool on the internet – good luck knitting this hat
