A full-on stressed-out week doesn’t just mess with your mind, it can take its toll physically too. In a new study participants were asked to do a strenuous gym workout after being questioned about their stress levels. Those with the most stress in their lives were more tired and sore after the exercising – and their muscle recovery was affected for four days afterwards. Use post-workout pain as a prompt to take more time off between gym sessions – and a sign that you need to take your foot off the accelerator.
