Switch off the TV – if you want your children to sleep

children watching tvIt may not surprise you to learn that children’s sleep is affected when they watch TV – after all even adults benefit from switching off the telly if they want a good night’s sleep. But now scientists have proven the point: in a study of more than 1,800 children aged six months to nearly eight years old, each additional hour of TV viewing was linked to seven fewer minutes of sleep daily – but children who had a TV in their room saw their sleep plummet by half an hour daily.
