Beauty tips for busy working women

I always wear makeup for work, I know I don’t have to but to look and feel presentable I feel it’s a must in the fashion industry, as image is seriously important.

But when it comes to workwear makeup it’s really easy to go overboard. You don’t want to look like the office clown!

Lidean Erasmus, makeup specialist for Elizabeth Arden, told the New Zealand Herald: “Work makeup should look neat, tidy and fresh – and not too over the top.”
This is definitely true, but most importantly I need makeup that will last all day.

It’s a faff constantly reapplying products, so investing in a few quality bits and pieces is definitely a must – especially if like me you wear makeup daily.

Ms Erasmus recommends that morning makeup should not take more than 15 minutes, as any longer than this and you’re probably wearing a little too much.

To hold it in place she suggests getting to grips with primers, which can help makeup last for longer, without the dreaded afternoon eyeliner smudge or a shiny complexion.

Eye, lip and face primers are becoming more popular and in the warmer summer months I can’t tell you how much time they’ve saved me!

It’s all fine and well investing in top makeup, but most of us can’t afford to carry around a bag of designer beauty products, so finding a happy medium is worth it.

With some of the girls at work I’m often jealous of how matte their complexion looks or how their mascara keeps lashes looking perky all day – don’t be afraid to ask colleagues what products they’re using and take their reviews on board to help you comprise the perfect capsule collection of makeup.
