Merry Christmas!

iStock_000004399687LargeJust a quickie today as it’s Christmas morning and not a creature is stirring, not even a greyhound. I love this part of Christmas Day– those precious few minutes post-wrapping and pre-opening when everything is tucked safely under the tree and nothing more can be done. That’s it – whatever I’ve forgotten will just have to stay forgotten.

The last few days have passed in a blur of tinsel and credit cards. The day before Christmas Eve I think we were trawling four different shopping stops between us to make sure we had all bases covered – thank Goodness for texting – without it I think Jack would have got four identical computer games and very little else – it’s funny how great minds think alike – and why, when he emailed us his list bang on the first of December to we end up flying around as if he’s just asked us to search out the lost ark of the covenant?

But today we can relax, we can open doors without knocking, open wardrobes without being concussed by an avalanche of carrier bags and finally open the fridge without being told: “Leave that! It’s for Christmas!”

It’s finally here – but enjoy every moment – it’ll be gone in the twinkling of an eye.

Merry Christmas to you all!
