Touch up your look this winter

Winter is a great time to add a touch of glam to your wardrobe, with fashion and beauty high on the agenda even for the busiest of women.

One must-have during the colder weather is a great stand-out lipstick, which can be a matter of trial and error to find the right shade, according to Alice Hart-Davis, beauty journalist and creator of goodthingsbeauty.com.

Ms Hart-Davis advised: “If you have a cool skin tone you should be better off with peachy and pinky colours [rather] than rosy browns that suit warmer skin tones.”

But while it makes sense to complement your complexion, she also recommended that you should factor in your personality, meaning that sheer lipsticks could be a great option if you’re not used to wearing much makeup.

As well as looking after your lips during the winter months, skincare is a must, claims Dr Helen Robertshaw, expert dermatologist at experbeauty.com.

This includes using oil-free moisturisers and remembering to wear sunscreen when travelling abroad to catch some last-minute sun.
