Dementia is caused by diseases of the brain and affects 800,000 people in the UK. This is figure is set to rise to one million by 2021.

Among the over 55’s, dementia is now feared by more than any other condition, including cancer.

Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading support and research charity, touching the lives of millions of people affected by dementia every year. Over 110,000 people rely on our local support services, and many thousands more benefit from our information and online support.

We campaign for better quality of life for people with dementia and greater understanding of dementia. We also fund an innovative programme of medical and social research into the cause, cure and prevention of dementia and the care people receive.

We depend on voluntary donations to continue our vital work. Help us support people to live well today and fight for a world without dementia tomorrow.
